Thoughts and Prayers Needed... I got word that Tom Throop was badly injured in a farm accident at or near his home. He was taken out by Aero-Med to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Tom has long been a part of many racers lifes with his chassis work business, TT Chassis. Updates as I get them. Racin' On The Fourth! CMS celebrates the Fourth of July this coming weekend in a grand way. After Mother Nature intervened last week, we will run last weeks features first and then start a brand new race night so you'll be getting six extra features PLUS fireworks! The night is sponsored by Anderson Contracting and Renovations. Adult grandstand admission is $12 and kids 5-11 are $4. Pit passes are $25. Further information can be obtained by call the track office at 989.235.5200
Mid-Michigan Raceway
Mid-Michigan Raceway Park (Palo) continues their race program this Friday, July 3rd. Their first night was
a success after drawing 49 cars with 26 of those being in the IMCA Modified division, with a good crowd on hand.
They are running Pro Stocks, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Flinn Stocks. Terry Williams, the ICMA tech inspector
from CMS, will be running the IMCA tech. The rules will be exactly the same as we use at CMS. We know money is tight but give 'em a shot
and some support! If you have questions, drop me a note and I'll get it to the right people.
Our Lives, Our Fortunes, Our Sacred Honor Freely admitting that this isn't my work, this is a 'must read' for those interested in those brave men who signed the Declaration of Independence .
Miss A Race? Watch it Now! Those of you that need to "kill time," please note that you can watch last weeks videos by division now. If you click on the "Races On The Web" link and look for the listing. You can watch the entire race as it happened (minus the cautions and other delays) by clicking on the "Last Weeks Video" link. After working with some mobile phone users, we have now perfected the live streaming audio for your web enabled cell phone. Click on the "Live Audio for Cell Phones" link. The audio goes live just about 7:30 every race night. We are working on live video for cell phones now.
The Lions Club Races Have A lack of cars and a lack of fans have caused the Wednesday night Lions Club races to be cancelled for the rest of the 2009 season. Every time it rains, our rain out list grows! If you would like to be on the 'rain out list' drop me an email from the link in the navigation bar.
Video Feed Remains Free... About ten days ago, I posted a small section here asking about returning the weekly Saturday night races to a small PPV charge. I was overwhelmed by emails asking that we please not do that as many couldn't afford to go to the races and the feed was their only way to stay involved with how their family and friends were doing at the track. With those pleas in mind, we will continue to supply the feed at no charge. If you have the means and you enjoy the feed, please consider a small donation to offset the nightly costs of about $98 a night. Thanks!
New Admittance Policy Effectively this weekend, there will be no 're-admit' for people that leave the grandstands. Due to a number of attempts at larceny from vehicles in the parking lot this last weekend by people who have no respect for anything or anyone, the Michigan State Police have advised that the track change our policy. Anyone in the parking area that does not have a admission ticket can be removed and charged with trespassing. How can you help? If you see anyone milling around in the parking lot, alert a track staff member. Same thing in the bathrooms. Two weeks in a row now, Ron has had to take toilets physically off the floor to remove beer cans and chewing tobacco pouches. If you see someone doing damage to the track, report it to a staff member. This is sad.
Engine Pro Contingency Program!! Scott of Engine Pro tells me applications to the Engine Pro contingency program are way down. Last year, nearly every night, random drivers from ALL divisions were leaving HUNDREDS of dollars on the table every night. You are buying parts so why not buy them from a local Engine Pro dealer and run the right sticker decals on your machine and you could pocket up to an extra $100 to $700 a night. Vern Buskirk knows. Ask him how much $$$$$ he pocketed the last couple seasons by buying his parts from a local dealer and running the decals. Click HERE for all the details or call the track for more details! 989.235.5200. How can you afford NOT to call? You can now look at the photos taken this year by clicking on the PHOTO link in the navigation bar. Due to an unfortunate situation, all 2009 photos are now watermarked. Viewers can easily see the photo but the water mark makes it less than good to lift and print yourself. You can tell me which photos you want and you can pick them up at the track as long as you email me by 2PM on Friday. If you want a number of the same photo, this is the best way to go.
In Other News... Races On The Web has stepped up to work in conjunction with another soon to be announced sponsor to provide a very substantive post season purse for the Flinn Stocks. Details will be available soon but the final purse will be equal to or very close to the Street Stock payout.

CMS Co-Announcer Trevor Hollis Trevor Hollis is now one of the co-hosts on WKTV's "The Racing Show" that also airs on the ROTW streaming network live every Monday night. You can watch the video portion by clicking HERE about 6:58 PM on Mondays or you can listen to the Radio portion by clicking HERE! Trevor has been on now for three shows and has done very well! Make sure you can tell him, "Hey... I saw you on TV!"
Did you miss the races last Saturday? Were you there and want to see them again? We have edited the cautions out, the parts where Roger just endlessly blathers about weird stuff, added a few ads... (hey, it's free!) ... and it is available for viewing 24/7 six days a week simply by clicking the "VIDEO" link on the navigation bar. The video is looped so you will 'join it in progress.' Email me if you have comments or problems!
Streaming Internet Radio Fully understanding that this coming season might be a tough one for racers and race fans, StreamNet Radio and Races On The Web (ROTW) are working with Engine Pro, ARP, and JE Pistons to help ease the pain. While we want you to come to the track every night you can, we understand there are nights you just can't make it. Fear not. We'll be there when you can't be. Thanks to our Engine Pro sponsors, the Radio portion is at no charge. The live video portion will sell for $3.99 a night to help defray the bandwidth costs. The StreamNet Radio portion of the sytem can be found HERE!!!. When the program is running, the radio should take off on its own. I'll be testing it during the week and I'll announce it here. We are using a slightly new version of player for the video. You will need to make sure you have the plug in for Windows Media Player. To test your computer, take a look at the "ROTW 24/7"Channel. If you can see that stream, you'll have no problems with the stream on nights you need to use it.
