Chaney Newland
PS Action April 19th
Calvin Castle jumped to the early lead in the Pro Stock feature,
running a strong line and excellent early season form but Chaney
Newland, always a perennial power began to move to the front and over
took Castle after a five lap fight. Todd Bush also had an excellent
opening night as he battled with Castle but in the mean time, Newland
checked out on the field. In the late going, close friend and stable
mate, Vern Buskirk took over second but was never able to flag down
the high flying Newland. Who went on to take the feature win. Top ten
finishers were Newland, Buskirk, Bush, Castle, Barry Rinard, Pete
Hundey, Randy Woodbury, Jeff Reist, Rick Trewartha, and Dan Willmore.
Newland and Buskirk took heat wins.
