Jimmy Hale
Modified Action April 19th
When you put 20 hungry Mod drivers on a fresh
dirt track, strange things are bound to happen. Opening nights are
notorious for mishaps but things were going relatively smooth. One of
the many battles raging was between Dan Minikey Jr. and Nate Jones.
Coming out of turn four, Minikey had the high line with Jones under
him. Jones began to drift up and their tires touched. On any given
night, this happens many times during the course of events but this
time, the touch launched Minikey high into the air and into the front
stretch fencing. Fifty feet of fencing came down but fortunately, the
safety features of both the cars and the cabling in the fencing did
their jobs and no one was hurt but after a close inspection of the
fence, the rest of the race events were canceled and reschedule for
next week. The IMCA Mod race will be continued with the contestants
starting where they were last scored after the caution.

The Engine Pro IMCA Modified race was about five laps old when it took the field and it didn't take long for Jimmy Hale Jr to take command as he battled off charges from Mike VanderMark Jr and Rusty Zeigler. Hale went on to win over Zeigler, VanderMark, Chad Maurer, Josh Borton, Luke Olger, Greg Wiles, Clifford Denman, Chad Burke, and Gary VanderMark. Jerry Hunt and Borton scored B Main feature wins and heat gold was awarded to Hale, Mickey Carman Jr, Zeigler, and Jeramie Raby.
