In a Port City Pro Stock race that anyone in the top five could have won, it was former champion Chaney Newland who would come out on top. Newland would take the lead about half way through the 25 lap feature but he would spend all of his time out front battling with Mike Husted who would finish second, third place finisher Don Rohn, Ryan Kent who would come home in fourth, and Saturday nights feature winner Larry Kosloski who held on for a fifth place finish.
In Port City Pro Stock action Larry Kosloski was looking to make it two feature wins in as many weeks. Starting on the pole for the 25 lap feature would give him the best chance and that’s exactly what the Grand Ledge native would do. Koz would take the lead from the drop of the green flag and didn’t look back. Having a notable run on the night would be Dick Reynolds who started 10 on the night and would come home second to Kosloski.
In the Port City Racing Pro Stock action, defending champion Cheney Newland basically only had to start and finish the feature in order to repeat as the Port City Pro Stock Champion. Mike Husted is really the only person that had a realistic chance at tracking down Chaney and dethroning the champion.
