The Kentucky Fried Chicken Late Models took the track for their 30 lap feature event. A number of early cautions really shuffled up the starting order and eliminated a couple of the top contenders but eventually patience set in and the field was able to spread out a bit and click off a number of green flag laps.
Milt Montgomery held the lead early of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Late Models but Tom Dusen soon overtook him, relegating him to second. Roger Wing had bobbled early in the race and fell to near the rear but slowly began to work his way back to the front. In the mean time, Kyle Borgman hauled in and over took the leaders to take his turn at the point. Borgman pulled away while Montgomery, Dusen, Matt Pickard, and Mickey Carmen fought for position behind him.
Scott Baker grabbed an early commanding lead in the Kentucky Fried Chicken sponsored Late Model class, followed by Scott Haney and Kyle Borgman. Roger Wing began his forward march from deep in the field and by lap 22 of the 30 lap event, he took the lead and never looked back.Baker, Borgman, Matt Pickard, and Jeff Kohn made up the rest of the top five.
