Destiny & History Meet

It was July 21st... and despite there being a huge car count and a very huge crowd, the story of the night was Bob Griffin winning the Pro Truck feature. Here is part of an interview I did with Bob a couple years back that explains it all. This was my question: You have a special race in honor of your daughter each year for your division. Could you explain a bit about that and tell us what you feel inside as a Dad and a driver when you win this special race.

Our daughter Kesha Lee was killed in a auto accident on July 21,
2004 at the age of 14. She was a crucial part of my race team. Even at that young age I trusted her in doing my tire pressures, my seat cover and my tear offs for my helmet. She loved racing and loved the Street Stocks. She was always the last person i would see before pulling on to the track. She knew who everyone was and what car they drove. She was just a super fan of Crystal Motor Speedway Dirt racing. Since her passing each year on the anniversary weekend of that terrible day we put extra money in the purse of the Street Stock race except this year we decided the Flinn stocks since they never get paid money back.

I also fly a flag on my car that night saying "Sky's the limit" "In
Loving memory of Kesha". As far as how do I feel as a Dad, I know she's there with me I can feel her, but I sure wish I could see her and hug her. Expectations are high for me that day, we know she is with me making us go faster. I have said in the past that I have wings guiding the way that night.We have been very very successful racing on that night. Think about that for a while.
