What A Glorious Night For A Race!!  

Ron Harper won in the Street Stock feature while Andrew Fidler overtook Kevin Rohn in the closing laps in the Pro Trucks. The Pro Stock feature fell to Rob Brillhart and Chad Wernette took the IMCA Mod main event. Gabe Gesselman took the Flinn Stock feature and finally Carl Ries took the Late Model Feature. More results, points, and photos in the morning! Tonight was sponsored by sponsored by Michigan One Community Credit Union.

Next week is another full show of all six divisions. Pit gates open at 4:30 and the main grandstand gates open at 5PM. Racing begins at 7:30. Adults are $12 and kids 5-11 are $5. Pit passes are $25. If everything goes right, we will try to broadcast this weekend. Some remarkable people from across the nation donated to a "Go Fund Me" campaign started by David Hendrick of Sidney. He set a goal of $1000 and that goal was surpassed in about 18 hours. I am humbled. THANK YOU to all the folks that gave so graciously and abundantly.

We will be live streaming the races tonight starting about 7:25 or so and you can watch on your pc HERE while I-Pad users can watch HERE.You can test your device before the races begin by clicking on one of the previous links as we have a 24/7 stream of races from 2014 running.

There was a modification to the rules concerning transponders. While it was changed in the rules, I failed to post here it here. This rule was modified April 21st, 2015. It says: "18. Transponders must be mounted on the right side and the back of rear axle and in an orange transponder pouch. If your transponder falls off you may not be scored and you will be responsible for replacing the transponder.Any racer caught trying to modify or deliberately changing location of transponder will be disqualified."  Check with your tech inspector if you have questions.

For those that intend to have minors entering the pits, here is the minor release form to have pre-filled out. PLEASE NOTE! "Legal" people say you need to do one of two things. Fill it out and have it notarized or fill it out but don't sign it until you are at the track so track officials can countersign it. Other forms will be posted here shortly.

Port City Race Car IMCA Modifieds got rolling with Chris Higgins holding the early lead but got loose and fell back. Brody Bowser not only took the lead, he jumped out to a full straight away advantage. A caution brought everyone back together with Bowser leading Brennen Hunt and Brenten DeYoung. With five to go, it was Bowser, Hunt, Brenten DeYoung,  AJ Ward and Johnny DeYoung. Bowser held on to win over Brenten DeYoung, Ward, Hunt, Myron DeYoung, John DeYoung, Jr.,

Ken Zeigler, Mike Shanteau, Tim Sooy, and Corey Ruesink. Sooy and Ward took B Mains while heats fell to Brenten DeYoung, Vern Buskirk, Bowser, and Zeigler.  

June 7 Results

The Port City Race Car IMCA Modified feature event saw a major pile up on the second lap in turn one involving at least eight cars but most of the competitors were able to continue.

Brandon Baylis grabbed the lead with Chad Wernette fighting his way into second after being one of the crashed cars earlier. Ruesink, Johnny DeYoung, Jr, and Jimmy Hale Jr made up the top five.

AJ Ward began to move forward, breaking into the top five with six to go. Wernette began to motor his way beside the leader but in the process, they touched and Wernette was sent to the rear as the caution car. Baylis pulled away to a small lead and held on to grab his first IMCA Modified feature over Johnny DeYoung, Hale, Jr., Ward, Myron DeYoung, Brenten DeYoung, Ruesink, Mike Shanteau, Austin Wonch, and Vern Buskirk.

Brody Bowser, Kenny Playter, Chad Precord, and Hale Jr all racked up victories in the heats with B Mains falling to Brennan Hunt and Brenten DeYoung.

The Port City Racing IMCA Modified action kicked off with Brennen Hunt leading Brenten DeYoung in the early going. A caution laps in found Hunt on the top of the turn three banking facing the wrong way, ending his night.  Brenten DeYoung took the helm over Corey Ruesink and Ken Zeigler. Brenten DeYoung began to slowly extend his lead over the field with Ruesink and AJ Ward filling the top three. Brenten DeYoung held on to take his second straight feature over Ruesink, Ward, Brody Bowser, Ken Zeigler, John DeYoung, Jr., Toby Steele, Sr., Chad Wernette, and Jimmy Hale, Jr.. 

John DeYoung  and Milt Montgomery made the big feature by taking B Mains with heats falling to Hunt, Ruesink,  Myron DeYoung, and Brenten DeYoung.
