Crystal Township has enjoyed being your host since the track was first developed in 1952. Chippewa indian tribes were the first to spend summers here and American pioneers settled the area in the 1850's. Just after the turn of the 20th century the largest producing oil fields in the midwest were just a few miles north and east of here. During this same era we enjoyed the reputation of being a honeymoon retreat and fun time Saturday night!
The boom days are gone now, but Leland Dolloff's dream of a great place to race on dirt still shines as brightly as the day excavators first turned earth and the Giles family cows were the only eyes watching. We hope you enjoy your visit and that you will patronize our local merchants during your stay. They support the track and our drivers with advertising dollars and we encourage you to return the favor whenever possible.
Dangerous Intersections! For some CMS visitors this may be your first time in our area. We want you to arrive here,
and return home, safely. Those hauling trailers should be especially careful at two intersections enroute to Crystal
Motor Speedway, they have been the site of many serious accidents. North of the track at Vestaburg is the intersection of
M-46 and Crystal Road and west of the track on M-66 at Sidney Road. Please, be careful.
from Southeast Michigan - Travel US-127 northbound from Lansing area to westbound M-57. At approximately 24 miles west,just past Carson City, turn north on County 565 (Crystal Road). Crystal is just five miles north.Turn right at the blinker light and the track is 1/3 mile on the left.
from Southwest Michigan - Travel northbound from Ionia area on M-66 to approximately three miles north of Sheridan.Turn east on Sidney Road. Crystal is eight miles from this intersection. Pass through the blinker light and the track is 1/3 mile on the left.
from Northeast Michigan - Travel US-127 southbound to Alma and exit at M-46 westbound. At approximately 15 miles west,at Vestaburg, turn south on County 565 (Crystal Road). Crystal is now 10 miles south. Follow the road through town to the second blinker and turn left. The track is 1/3 mile on the left.
from West and Northwest Michigan - Follow M-46 eastbound through Edmore. At approximately four miles east,at Vestaburg, turn south on County 565 (Crystal Road). Crystal is now 10 miles south. Follow the road through town to the second blinker and turn left. The track is 1/3 mile on the left.
